College Student Ministry
Welcome!

Located one block south of the ISU Memorial Union, First Baptist is a vital part of the ISU community.  Students are involved in all areas of our ministry.  We i
nvite you to get involved - there are many opportunities for worship, study, fellowship, and service.

Worship: We gather for worship on Sunday mornings at 9:45. Students are involved as worship leaders, choir members, ushers, nursery workers, and more.

Sunday Suppers: We meet on Sunday nights at 6 pm for a meal together, followed by Bible study, fellowship, and activities.  We generally meet in the College Lounge but will sometimes have a meal in someone's home or have a cookout, hayride, or other activity.

Music: Our choir sings all kinds of music, has a lot of fun, and welcomes students! . Mindy Phomvisay, an ISU grad, is our Director of Music.  If you play an instrument, e would love to have you share your talent with us!  We have a "Yuletide Orchestra" that plays in December and is threatening to play at other times, and we use a variety of instruments in worship.  Worship is a mix of traditional and contemporary.  We have some scholarships available to students who sing in the choir and/or play an instrument in worship.

Spring Break Trip: We will be going to Nicaragua over spring break 2012 to work with AMOS Hope and Health, a medical ministry in remote villages.  We will be building a clinic or working on another community project.  We'd love to have you join us!

Fellowship/Activities: We regularly gather for a meal together. You can join our basketball team, the First Baptist Dunkers. (Get it? Baptist - Dunkers?), go on a hayride, or enjoy time spent with friends at a Game Night. We have lots of opportunities for fellowship and building relationships, and we think it is important to just have fun!

Newsletter: While school is in session, our nearly-weekly e-letter generally includes a "bad joke of the week," info on campus life, and details on current happenings at First Baptist.

College Lounge:
Located on the second floor of our education wing, the lounge is a place to hang out, study, listen to music, or play games. It's available for use whenever the building is open. Sunday Suppers and other gatherings are held here. And we have wi-fi access!

Other Opportunities: Take part in a service project, get involved in drama, work at our Music Camp for kids, serve as a worship leader, run the sound board on Sunday mornings, and much more!
